Clout Public Affairs Expands Senior Leadership in Washington, D.C and Austin, Texas
Hires Samantha Dravis, Catherine Frazier
WASHINGTON – Clout Public Affairs, a division of Axiom Strategies, has brought on Samantha Dravis and Catherine Frazier to continue building its nationally-recognized public affairs operation with a focus on expanding its services in policy and communications strategy.
Dravis joins Clout as Senior Vice President, based in Washington, D.C., where she will advise clients on public affairs strategies and the regulatory process.
Frazier joins as Senior Vice President of Communications, based in Austin, where she will apply her comprehensive experience in messaging strategy, media relations, and crisis management to the needs and goals of Clout’s clients.
“Samantha brings an intimate knowledge of the federal regulatory process and over a decade of policy and legal experience to the table, particularly in her past work at the EPA and with the Republican Attorney Generals Association,” said Clout President David Polyansky. “Her strategic mindset will be an invaluable asset to our clients who depend on understanding both the inner developments of Washington policy, and the latest legal and policy battles in states all across the country.”
David added, “Catherine’s years of experience in strategic communications and working with Texas and national media in a variety of high-profile roles will allow Clout clients to better develop and drive the messages they need to succeed. Her deep and long-standing ties in Texas will also be invaluable to our operations in the Lone Star State.”
Samantha most recently served as Associate Administrator at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where she led policy for the agency’s regulatory and permitting programs, and oversaw the agency’s major regulatory actions. She also managed EPA’s coordination with all federal agencies. Samantha’s notable career includes serving as president of the Rule of Law Defense Fund, general counsel of the Republican Attorneys General Association, an attorney on Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, and associate director of political affairs at The White House during the George W. Bush administration. Samantha graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
Catherine has crafted communications strategies around numerous policy and political efforts in the Texas Governor’s Office, on two presidential primary campaigns, and on Capitol Hill. She most recently served as senior communications adviser to Sen. Ted Cruz on his winning re-election campaign and prior to that, managed his U.S. Senate press office. She also served as the national press secretary to Cruz’s 2016 presidential primary campaign. Before working on Capitol Hill, she was press secretary to Texas Governor Rick Perry, and also served as deputy press secretary to his 2012 presidential campaign and 2010 re-election campaign. Catherine is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with bachelor’s degrees in government and public relations.
